Books! Who doesn’t love books?
Whether on Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, or Instagram, bibliophiles and library and archives professionals are making our world a better place every day by sharing photos – and a phenomenal knowledge base – using social media.
We love what you’re doing, and we want to share it. We started as a community of Instagram users, but we celebrate visual library outreach on all forms of social media. A photo from every continent! A pic from every genre!
So, please don’t hesitate to submit your pictures. (Use the form below, or email us at iglibraries [@] gmail [dot] com.)
Rules
THE IGLibraries
- Not all #iglibraries are libraries. Everyone is welcome to contribute.
- #iglibraries content can include books, architecture, and events, but you must have permission from any people in your photos to use their likeness.
- We are not here to advertise. We advocate for libraries and reading, and to increase visibility for collections and exhibitions. We will not share any photos that smack of self-promotion.
The picture
- In the best case, you give your picture a CC BY 3.0 license.
- We need your permission to use your images. If not otherwise declared: by submitting your picture, we assume a cc-by-3.0-license to publish it here.
- Please provide information on the photographer (your/your institution’s name and e-Mail address), place (and date).
- Link to your original post.
- High resolution is appreciated.
- We enjoy your content. Photos on this site will link directly to your post, but we will not reproduce your witty, intellectual, and amazing captions. Those are yours.
- We also administer an Instagram account. If your photo is from Instagram, and you are OK with reposting, it could appear there. Such reposts will include your original text.
Please also leave your E-MAIL ADDRESS and GEO LOCATION for your picture (we’re working on a map, but more on that later).
